Obituary: Mr. Hedburg has lived in Kewanee all of his life and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who mourn his death. He was born here May 7, 1875. He was the son of peter William and Ellen Jaderstrom Hedburg. He was married about twenty years ago to Miss Viletta Buffett. Six children were born to them, one dying in infancy. Those who survive to mourn their father's passing are Benjamin, Arvin, Izora, Selma and Zeda. There are three brothers and three sisters living. They are P.W. Hedburg, Decatur; Andrew, Kewanee; Mrs. Thompson, Chicago; Mrs. Jenkins, Sycamore; Mrs. Larson, Larimore, N.D.; J.A. Hedburg, Fresno, Ca. He died October 8, 1915 at his home, 936 Simpson Avenue. Viletta (daughter of Emmett Osborn Buffett and Alveretta Locele Rohrer) was born on 26 Jan 1875 in Annawan Township, Henry County, Illinois; died on 6 Jun 1963 in Kewanee, Henry County, Illinois; was buried in Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, Henry County, Illinois. Obituary: Mrs. Hedburg who had been ill several years, died Thursday (June 6, 1963) at 7:40am at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Dollander, 119 W. 13th St. Mrs. Hedburg, the daughter of Emmett O. and Alveretta Rohrer Buffett, was born Jan. 26, 1875, in Annawan Township. She was married to Frank A. Hedburg May 7, 1894. He died Oct. 8, 1915. She made her home in Kewanee practically all of her life. Survivors include five children, two brothers, D.C. Buffett or Hastings, Neb., and Charles Buffett of Kewanee; one foster sister, Mrs. Oscar (Florence Wood) Thumberg of Berwyn; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was preceeded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Clyde E. Buffett; a half-brother, Atlee R. Wood and a son, who died in infancy.

"Ma., I believe the person who I have listed as Elydon is Clyde and his full first name may have been Clydon since I found a listing in the Pleasant View Cemetery for Clydon Buffett with the same birth and death dates as the person who was listed as Elydon in the birth records at the library."

8/31/2005. I have her parents as David Rohrer and Sophronia Troyer. David born Dec. 28, 1817 and died May 19, 1853. Sophronia was born July 15, 1820 and died July 10, 1922. Both of them are buried in Fairview Cemetery just south of Annawan. Sophronia's second husband Samuel Pettitt is buried with them as well. Alveretta had 2 sisters: Selestia who died young and Priscilla. I have Alveretta married Emmett Osborn Buffett on Jan. 1, 1872. I have she married Lester Wood on March 9, 1882. Me. Vigor.

8/31/2005. Born Jan. 8, 1853 in Annawan Township and died Dec. 14, 1918. From her obit: Name: Alveretta Locele Rohrer. She and Emmett had 4 children: Charles, Clyden, David and Viletta. The obit lists Emmett died May 16, 1879. It lists she and Lester had 1 child: Atlee (son). It also lists 3 brothers: David, Allie and John Pettitt. and 2 sisters: Mrs. T.E. Davis and Mrs. J.P. Heaps. Pricilla married Tom Davis and Sarah Pettitt married J.P. Heaps. The Pettitts would be half-siblings since they have different dads. It also lists an adopted daughter of Alveretta and Lester's -- Mrs. Florence Clark. In Lester's obit it lists he died at step-granddaughter's Mrs. Joseph Dollander on Oct. 9, 1929. He was born June 10, 1853. Also lists thier son Atlee on 112 East Eighth Street. and adopted daughter Mrs. Florence Thunburg so she married again. Both Alveretta and Lester are buried in Pleasant View. Me. Vigor.
