240 | INJURIES PROVED FATAL Brother of Martin Dolander of Kewanee Dies in Geneseo. After a week of suffering, Frank Dolander, brother of Martin Dolander of this city, passed away yesterday morning at 4 o'clock at the hospital in Geneseo. One week ago last evening, Dolander with a young woman, Mary Verzruys by name, was driving across the Rock Island railroad tracks at Ferguson's crossing east of Annawan, when their carriage was struck by a fast train. Particulars regarding the accident were published in the Star Courier, next day. The young lady was not badly hurt and was taken to her home in Annawan, while Dolander who was less fortunate, was removed to the Geneseo hospital. For a while it was thought his condition was not serious, but last Thursday a change for the worse was manifested and it was known that the young man was suffering from internal injuries. Martin Dolander of Kewanee, was called to his bedside and was with his brother during the closing hours of his life. The funeral service will be held at Annawan tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be at the cemetery in Atkinson. | ||
