224 OBITUARY:

KEWANEE - Grace L. Keesler, 94, of Kewanee, died at 12:10 PM on Friday, January 27, 2006 at Royal Oaks Health Care Center in Kewanee.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Dr. Kevin Siscoe will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held at 10:15 A.M. Private burial will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church, Kewanee Hospital Foundation, Kewanee Schools Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Keesler was born on September 7, 1911 in Neponset, IL, the daughter of Glenn and Sadie (Combs) Stabler. She married Haydn F. Keesler on August 31, 1948 in Elko, NV. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1979. She is survived by several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and great -great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Keesler graduated from Neponset High School in 1929 and the Kewanee Business School in 1931. She was owner of Keesler Sporting Good’s Store from March 1, 1948 until her retirement in 2000.She was also a Notary Public for 51 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member since 1959 of the former Eastern Star Harmony Chapter #43, Kewanee, serving in many offices and most recently as Grand Lecturer. She was currently a member of the Geneseo Chapter O.E.S. # 275.

KEWANEE -- Frances M. Ray, 80, a resident of Hillcrest Nursing Home in rural Geneseo and formerly of Kewanee, died at 6:43 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at the home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, Dr. James Breed officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Home.

She was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Lone Wolf, Okla., the daughter of Loyd A. and Isabelle (Pruitt) Ray. She is survived by a brother, Loy (Arlene) Ray of Hudson, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mildred Bryner. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kewanee.

Raymond M. Craig, 84, of Kewanee, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian, Kewanee. Burial is in Wethersfield Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Schueneman-Tumbleson, Kewanee, and 9 a.m. to services Monday at church.

He was born Feb. 6, 1922, to Ross and Leila Craig. He married Myra Hadsall Sept. 8, 1946.

Survivors are wife; children, Dan, Martha Vigor, both Kewanee, Doug, Clinton, Iowa; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roland, Kewanee.

227 Obituary: Mr. Hedburg has lived in Kewanee all of his life and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who mourn his death. He was born here May 7, 1875. He was the son of peter William and Ellen Jaderstrom Hedburg. He was married about twenty years ago to Miss Viletta Buffett. Six children were born to them, one dying in infancy. Those who survive to mourn their father's passing are Benjamin, Arvin, Izora, Selma and Zeda. There are three brothers and three sisters living. They are P.W. Hedburg, Decatur; Andrew, Kewanee; Mrs. Thompson, Chicago; Mrs. Jenkins, Sycamore; Mrs. Larson, Larimore, N.D.; J.A. Hedburg, Fresno, Ca. He died October 8, 1915 at his home, 936 Simpson Avenue. 228 Obituary: Mrs. Hedburg who had been ill several years, died Thursday (June 6, 1963) at 7:40am at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Dollander, 119 W. 13th St. Mrs. Hedburg, the daughter of Emmett O. and Alveretta Rohrer Buffett, was born Jan. 26, 1875, in Annawan Township. She was married to Frank A. Hedburg May 7, 1894. He died Oct. 8, 1915. She made her home in Kewanee practically all of her life. Survivors include five children, two brothers, D.C. Buffett or Hastings, Neb., and Charles Buffett of Kewanee; one foster sister, Mrs. Oscar (Florence Wood) Thumberg of Berwyn; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was preceeded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Clyde E. Buffett; a half-brother, Atlee R. Wood and a son, who died in infancy.

"Ma., I believe the person who I have listed as Elydon is Clyde and his full first name may have been Clydon since I found a listing in the Pleasant View Cemetery for Clydon Buffett with the same birth and death dates as the person who was listed as Elydon in the birth records at the library."
