The homemade cardboard and string holder William made for the arrowheads disintegrated over time. As they are made of stone, cleaning the adhesive from them in the future should not harm them. |

![]() | 50th Wedding Anniversary party announcement in Star Courier newspaper. William Nicholsons Married 50 Years. Daughters of Mr. and Mrs. William Nicholson, 121 W. Kellogg St., Kewanee, will honor their parents with an open house Sunday, June 25 in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. The open house will be held at the First United Methodist Church between 2 to 4 p.m. All friends, relatives, neighbors and former pupils of Mrs. Nicholson are invited to attend. The couple requests that gifts be omitted. William Nicholson and Harriet Green were united in marriage in the parsonage of the First United Methodist Church in Manteno by the Rev. Edgar Haildredge on June 28, 1928. Nicholson owned and operated a sandwich shop in Kankakee. A daughter, Mrs. Harold (Donna Jean) Gustafson, now of Hoopole, was born in Kankakee. Two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Gail Joan) Autery, and Mrs. Michael (Lois Elizabeth) Vigor, were born in Kewanee. There are also 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Both Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson were reared in Wethersfield, and both graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1924. Nicholson was engaged in roofing work, being a roofing contractor for 20 years. Mrs. Nicholson taught school in and around Kewanee and Wethersfield for 20 years. | |
