Dollander family history

Travel to the U.S., spelling of the name, etc.

The family name Dollander was spelled D'Hollander when in Belgium and in the Ellis Island, New York record books. Theophil Dollander (Thaophiel D'Hollander) came to the U.S. aboard the Kensington, arriving March 15, 1899 at the age of 31 years. His wife Mary (Marie, 27), daughter Louise (9), son Joseph (8) and daughter Martha (Clemence, 2) came to the U.S. aboard the Westernland, arriving August 2, 1899. Son Charlie and daughter Clara were born in Illinois. Their place of residence in Belgium was Watervliet (sometimes [mis]spelled as Watervlist and Watervleet, especially in the Kewanee Star Courier newspaper), and their port of departure was Antwerp, Belgium. Thanks to Melissa Vigor for finding these records.
