Text | May 26, 1916. Page 14. Nearby Deaths: James A. Green, one of Kirkwood's earliest settlers, passed away at his home here Wednesday night at 9:30 o'clock, heart disease, from which he has suffered for several years, being the immediate cause of death. Deceased was born in Urbana, Champaign county, Ohio, Feb. 15, 1835 and when six months old came with his parents to Fulton county, Ill. In January 7, 1857, he was united in marriage to Miss Jenette Tinker of Knoxville. One year later they came to Kirkwood, settling on a farm two miles east of town, which has been the home ever since. Seven children were born to this union. Emmet S., the oldest, died Nov. 18, 1907, and Eugene died in infancy June 18, 1863. The five remaining are Willis E. Green of Chicago, J. Harold Green of Kewanee, Mrs. H. E. Cave, Misses Ada and Sara Green of Kirkwood. The aged wife also survives. He also leaves two brothers and a sister in Nebraska and a sister in Sidell, Ill.
