HUFFMAN BURIED MONDAY, GALVA CEMETERY The Galva News, Galva, Illinois Thursday, May 23, 1946 Former Burns Farmer Dies in Kewanee Friday Funeral services for Levi Andrew Huffman, 79, were conducted Monday afternoon in the Seifert & Smith funeral home in Kewanee followed by burial in Galva Cemetery. Mr. Huffman died at 5:30 a.m. Friday at his home on rural route 2, Kewanee where he had been ill for two weeks. A native of Kewanee, he was born June 7, 1866, the son of Mason and Nancy Plants Huffman. He attended rural schools and engaged in farming most of the time with the exception of the years between 1909 and 1921 when he conducted a coal business in LaFayette. On April 29, 1890, in Toulon he married Minnie M. Brazee who survives him. They lived all of their married life in Stark and Henry county. Mr. Huffman was a member of United Brethren Church. THREE SONS SURVIVE Survivors besides the wife include three sons, Jesse J. Huffman, of Davenport; Carl and Lawrence Huffman, of Kewanee; three daughters, Mrs. Chris Anderson, Mrs. Mabel Otis and Mrs. Louis Davis all of Kewanee; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. There are also two brothers, Abraham Huffman of Galva, and J. O. Huffman of Perry, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Heck and Mrs. Orpha Heck both of Ogden, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Faber, of Milburn, Iowa, and Mrs. Edna Wolfe, of Kewanee. Four children, four grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. | |
