Text | ALEXANDER J. YEOMANS Monmouth Illinois Newspaper Died Nov 25, 1902 A.J.Yeomans, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Kirkwood, He died there Nov 25,1902 with dropsy which he had suffered for several months. He was born in Utica, NY. in 1828 and in 1852 married Miss Mary Tinker. To them were born four children only one of whom, Mrs. A. E. Billings of Kirkwood survived him and his wife. Mr.and Mrs. Yeomans came to where Kirkwood now stands in November of 1853 and has resided there ever since. He was a carpenter by trade and built many of the earlier residences in the village. He was a member of the Methodist Church and his funeral was conducted by the Pastor Rev. J.A. Reason with the burial in Center Grove Cemetery. | |
